And so begins my little quest to tweak this blog into something respectable.
Over time, you will most probably see subtle changes, the most evident one will probably be making the blog "best viewed" in a 1024x768 and above resolution. Hey, if you can't see in 1024x768 or smaller, you need to either check your eyesight/glasses/contacts and correct them.
Anyway, I digress. To the topic at hand.
I believe everyone's either read/heard/seen/experienced the London blasts. For the people who have been living in seclusion, 4 bomb blasts ripped through London, basically disrupting the entire public transport network. The Tube was hit, as were buses. Lives lost number more than 60, and are still rising.
Now here we have a classic example of terrorism. So what happens? Let's see the last example - 9/11 happened, and the US basically went to war. Of course, the main purpose of the war got muddied up after they hit Iraq, but the starting focus was to destroy Al-Qaeda. So they sally forth, and when losses in war are encountered, the general US public turn tail, and demand their men back from war. So the US and its allies lose 500 men in the course of battle, where casulties are expected, and allies start to capitulate. They pull their forces back. They start anti-war demonstrations. Rival politcal parties start demanding a change of administration. Yadda yadda yadda... Boom! Another 9/11.
Ok, I admit that last part was totally fictional, and sincerly pray that we will never witness another such tragedy. But see where this dangerous trend is going? Let me attempt to illustrate a simple chart.Terror Attack -> War on Terror -> Casulties in War on Terror -> Troops capitulate to homeland pressure -> Terror groups breathe easier -> Another Terror Attack Rinse and repeat. Is this what we really want?
